Shorya Mahanot, one of the world’s youngest abstract artists and painting prodigy, has been receiving recognition and praise since participating in his first U.S.-based show, the 35th annual Artexpo New York, which took place this past March. Prior to the show, his works were discovered by the director of  the Ward-Nasse Gallery in New York, and some of his paintings were selected to appear in a special curated exhibition at the gallery during the month of April, “Best of Artexpo 2013.”

These works currently remain on display in its permanent gallery. In addition, the six-year-old rising art star captured attention and interest of several collectors, industry insiders and trade buyers wanting to see more of his works carried and sold domestically. As a result of his current momentum, he and his family will focus on growing an audience and platform in the U.S., while he continues to flourish and enjoy international success.

When asked about his experience at Artexpo, Shorya enthusiastically explained, “It was my first time in the United States and I was excited to be at Artexpo with all the other artists!  And people wanted to see my paintings!  Meeting other artists and seeing the art was my favorite part – they were older than me and we are all making art!”
